Scott Stadthagen takes Oath of Office

HARTSELLE, Alabama - During a dinner event at the Burleson Fine Arts Center, billed as a “Celebration”, Scott
Stadthagen the newly elected State Representative for District 9 took the Oath of Office in front of roughly
200 family, friends and supporters. The night, emceed by Hartselle leader Ferrell Vest, began with a prayer
from Pastor Clayton Speed, First Baptist Church Hartselle and the presentation of colors by the Fighting Joe
Wheeler Squadron of the Hartselle City Schools Civil Air Patrol under the direction of Retired Colonel Brian
Williams . This was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance lead by daughter Collins Stadthagen(6) and friends.
The opening ceremonies concluded with the Star Spangled Banner by Hartselle Student Olivia Patterson.
Following dinner, Senator Arthur Orr spoke of the need to support those that choose to step into public
service. He shared two points: Continue to support Scott and Pray for Scott any other elected leaders when
you agree and when you don’t. After the Senator’s remarks, longtime Morgan County Judge Glenn Thompson
administered the Oath of Office to Scott who was joined by his wife Amy Ann Peck Stadthagen and daughter
Collins in front of the Seal of the State of Alabama.
Once sworn in, Stadthagen took the stage and shared about his experiences over the last 20 months during
the campaign. He reminisced how the journey began and highlighted the team effort it took to reach voters
across 3 counties. He shared “I learned that Collins was a machine when it came to knocking on doors and
realized that more people came to the door when she was with me, often inviting us in”. He thanked his
family, his campaign staff and the citizens of District 9 for believing in his message. In closing, an emotional
Stadthagen stated “There are two things you can count on. I will approach every vote I cast through prayer
and the decisions I make will be based on the needs of the people of District 9”.
Scott Stadthagen is a homebuilder and Owner of Hagen Homes. He won the Republican Primary in June with
62% of the votes in a three way race. He then faced Democrat Terry Jones Savage, the sister of current
Senator Doug Jones (D) AL, before she dropped out. He was elected to replace outgoing State Representat
